MLB completed a state of the art 57,000 sqft covered tennis facility in Cary, NC that provides players with seven posttension, concrete tennis courts covered for year-round play.
Faced with the daunting task of closing 25% of the existing park while constructing the new building, MLB worked with all shareholders to ensure a seamless transition of allowing the full time use of the park while being under construction.
Massive grading and redesign of the existing utilities on the project were just a few of the design challenges on this $3.8 million dollar publicly funded project.
The project included post tensioned engineered slabs for the seven new courts that were top-coated with a USTA professional rated surface. The courts were then surrounded by a pre-engineered steel building allowing the Town of Cary to provide the first USTA sanctioned indoor/outdoor tennis center in North Carolina.
Built as a multi-purpose building, the new building features state of the art lighting and ventilation for the enjoyment of all. Fully wired for advancing technology, the building even features full television broadcast capabilities. This allows television production companies to plug and play directly into the building and broadcast globally from the park location.
Under pressure and with some of the wettest weather on record, MLB was able to push through on the project and delivered the building on-time and under total project budget.
